The wonderful thing about wearing vintage
There are many things I love about incorporating vintage pieces into your wardrobe. One of them is that, while they are not actually one of a kind, they basically are. The chances of going to a party and running into someone wearing the same stuff you are is basically nil. Ever been to a party where it appears as though everyone hit up the same department store in preparation for the big event? I have and I just prefer to not look like a walking Macy’s mannequin adorned with jewelry straight off the wall at Claires.
Not that there is anything wrong with wearing a dress from Macy’s, not at all. The point is that a strategically placed brooch or earrings that make your ex boyfriends new girlfriend go, “OMG, where did you get those?? I want them!” and no one will even notice you happen to be wearing the same dress they tried on 3 days ago.
One of my personal favorites is this brooch pinned on a plum dress. Next time I wear it I promise I’ll take pics and post them.

Mixing Vintage and Modern
I wore this a couple weeks ago to an outdoor evening event. The pink clutch is vintage Ande’ and I believe the necklace is vintage as well although I’m not certain about that. It is unsigned. The dress (not vintage) is Forever 21 and the shoes (also not vintage) are Amanda Smith.
I usually tend to carry older vintage clutches but I just couldn’t resist the pink and green combo in this outfit!
